Intermedix Corporation was built through the combination of two leading companies in emergency services revenue cycle management, including Medical Consultants, Inc. (dba EPBS) and Advanced Data Processing, Inc. (ADPI). Prior to joining forces in 2006, Medical Consultants and ADPI were each leaders in their respective sectors of emergency services revenue cycle management for over 25 years. Following their combination in 2006, they continued to lead their respective sectors while together creating a more seamless approach to the emergency services continuum, from first response through hospital admission. In the last several years, the combined company has continued to add to its product and technology suite via the acquisition of Intermedix, Inc. in 2006 and Revenue Rescue, Inc. in 2007. Today, the combined company (which was renamed Intermedix Corporation in 2008) funds our nation's emergency safety net.
Medical Consultants, Inc. was established in 1983 and is the largest independent provider of medical billing, transcription and coding services focused exclusively on emergency departments in the United States. Under its more commonly known trade name of EPBS, the company provides a full outsourced billing solution, including chart coding, bill generation, bill submission, payment processing, collections, transcription, and practice management services. The EPBS full billing solution enables its clients, primarily independent physician groups, larger physician staffing companies and hospitals, to outsource their entire back-office billing function. EPBS was acquired by Intermedix Corporation in 2005.
Originating in 1979, Advanced Data Processing (ADPI) is the largest independent provider of medical billing and coding services to emergency medical services agencies in the United States. ADPI also provides a full outsourced billing solution including the provision of mobile electronic patient record collection systems for its clients to capture patient information at the scene of the incident. ADPI was acquired by Intermedix Corporation in 2006.
In 2006, Intermedix Corporation acquired Intermedix, Inc., an EMS technology and business services company formed in 2002. Now known as Intermedix Technologies, Inc. (IMX), IMX provides secure end-to-end technology solutions for EMS providers including TripTix® Mobile, TripTix® Web, and the fully integrated IMX billing platform.
In 2007, Intermedix Corporation added fire response cost recovery services capabilities with the acquisition of Revenue Rescue, Inc. Revenue Rescue began operations in 2003. Revenue Rescue/Intermedix provides revenue management solutions to fire departments across the United States. Our web-based technology and experienced professionals recover fire response costs by submitting property casualty claims for motor vehicle accidents, hazmat, and other fire response fees.
